“There’s a Palestine that dwells inside all of us”
By: Elmira Musa
There’s a Palestine that dwells inside all of us, a Palestine that needs to be rescued: a free Palestine where all people regardless of color, religion, or race coexist; a Palestine where the meaning of the word “occupation” is only restricted to what the dictionary says rather than those plenty of meanings and connotations of death, destruction, pain, suffering, deprivation, isolation and restrictions that Israel has injected the word with.”
Blessed land and blessed people! Palestine is one of the most blessed places on Earth.
Visited the final resting place of The Prophet Abraham peace be upon him, we witnessed the answer to his prayer in the Qur’an where Abraham says: “My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. And grant me a reputation of honour among later generations.” (Qur’an 26:83-84),
God granted him the highest honour and repute among all the generations of believers who came after him, the followers of all three monotheistic faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, deeply revere The Prophet Abraham.
If only we could all become more Abrahamic, perhaps the world would be a better place. Was very sad to see for the first time in my life Israeli checkpoints, the Israeli apartheid wall and the crippling effects of the Israeli occupation of Palestine, something tells me this is not what Abraham wanted for his children.
Despite this, what a beautiful experience! The Palestinian people are so warm and welcoming, beaming smiles and joyous hearts greet us wherever we went.
We visited Bedouin family in the desert and spent the night in a tent. We had the chance to witness the sunset from the top of the mountain, the view was surreal after that headed back to tent for dinner and some Bedouin entertainment. Day after we went to see the sunrise over a mountain in the desert and saw an amazing view of the Dead Sea, all of us looking in awe and reflecting. What an experience, never thought I’d be here. One thing’s for sure, I’m falling deeper in love with this land.
I’ve dreamt of this place… and God made it a reality for me. I’m beyond overwhelmed.
“Glory to Him who made His servant travel by night from the sacred place of worship to the furthest place of worship, whose surroundings we have blessed, to show him some of our signs: He alone is the All Hearing, the All Seeing” Qur’an 17:1
After a tussle with authorities, finally made it to Jerusalem the place I’ve been longing to connect to spirituality!
Feels surreal to be in the Holy Lands where God himself has assured us these surroundings are blessed. Visited the third most noble of sanctuaries on Earth, Masjid al-Aqsa. Alhamdulillah (Praise and thanks be to Allah).
Palestine and the Palestinian people have a special place in our heart! Alhamdulillah, Allah has assured us that His justice and mercy always prevails and everyone will have their just due. You’re all in our prayers, Keep us in yours!
