“I have seen more things than I could have expected”
By: Anna Morgan – Poland
These were a very intense two weeks! I participated in a very well organized program of youth exchange. We were very warmly welcomed. Every volunteer at An-Najah University gave us a lot of support. They tried to make our stay awesome. I have seen more things than I could have expected. We visited refugee camps, inhabited by the people who have been living there since 1948. We were told about their situation and living conditions.
I learned more about the reality in the West Bank, but also I got to know the desires of simple, people like their willingness to education, dreams or daily customs (I will never forget the night of Tawjihi!).
We went to important religious sites like Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron. Those visits were significant to me, because of their long history and meaning. We had an opportunity to see landscapes and geography of the area, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea – you really don’t drown there!
Having certain knowledge about Middle Eastern issues derived from books, I wanted to check the reality. I’ve got what I came for. I recommend this program to everybody interested in this part of the world. You will find there warm and helpful people who want to show you piece of their land.
Shukran!
