Zajel Organizes a Workshop on Volunteer Programmes in Europe
An-Najah’s Public Relations Department has recently organized an introductory workshop on how to apply for volunteer programmes in Europe. The lecture was given by student Ramses Hijazi, volunteer of the International Youth Exchange Programme (Zajel). Hijazi talked about his experience as a volunteer in Barcelona for one year.
He introduced the students to the International Civil Service Commission, its branches and partners as well as his role as a volunteer in organizing a number of the Commission’s international camps. He also talked about the benefits of volunteering in international camps and their role in developing students’ skills and competency, most important of which is the ability to break the ice burg and communicate properly with people of western cultures.
At the end of the workshop, Hijazi gave pieces of advice to the students on how to develop their experiences and skills before being involved in the labour market through volunteering in various local and international institutions.
