Zajel Organizes a Lecture on Intellectual Pluralism
On Sunday, April 17th, 2016, and in cooperation with the Ibn Rushd Fund for Freedom of Thought in Berlin, Germany, the International Youth Exchange Programme (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah organized a lecture on intellectual pluralism in the Arab World.
The Lecture was moderated by Mr. Hikmat Bushnaq, Director of the Ibn Rushd Fund who tackled the issue of the world civilization role in developing intellectual values and its relation to the Arab World’s Future.
Mr. Bushnaq explained that the Arab World should step up to develop entrepreneurial solutions for contemporary issues based on creativity and innovation.

– Mr. Bushnaq is a Nabulsi entrepreneur and a graduate from the Technical University of Berlin who has been working for 18 years now at the Ibn Rushd Fund for Freedom of Thought in Germany.
– The Ibn Rushd Fund for Freedom of Thought is an independent organization registered in Germany which was founded in 1998 in commemoration of the 800th anniversary of Ibn Rushd’s (Averroes’) death, and on the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Universal Human Rights. The fund aims at supporting the ideas of freedom of thought and democracy by honoring people who have rendered outstanding services. It also launches campaigns in favour of persons who because of their political or social activities and beliefs come into conflict with their governments.
