Organizing a Workshop at An-Najah on the Management, Training and Development of Human Resources
The International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) at the Public Relations Department and the Office of the University President Assistant for Graduate Affairs at An-Najah organized a workshop titled “Management, Training and Development of Human Resources at the Palestinian Telecommunication Group (PALTEL): University Graduates-Reality and Challenges”. The meeting was administered by Mr. Sulaiman Abu Hijleh, Director of Human Resources at PALTEL, who spoke about the methods used to develop the competency of graduates who join work at the Company.
Mr. Abu Hijleh delivered a presentation about the factors that affect the graduates which include self-factors related to mental abilities, interactive skills, the work market, as well as the economical and political situation. He also described the importance of matching the outcomes of education with the work market pointing out the role of personal skills in improving the chances of getting a job.
Those skills include positive behavior, independency, self-confidence and creative thinking, in addition to mental skills such as use of technology and strategic thinking. Then, he explained the ways to overcome obstacles that hinder self development as well as external factors.
Mr. Abu Hijleh has been working as director of human resources at PALTEL since 1998 and has also been the Director of Administrative Affairs and Human Resources in the hospitals of the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Abu Hijleh enjoys extensive experience and has participated in many conferences, seminars and workshops in the field of human resources. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Statistics from Yarmouk University. He also obtained a High Diploma in Business Administration from Hebron University in 2000, a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2003, in addition to the Certified Human Resource Management Professional certificate in 2009.
