Zajel Youth Exchange Program was invited to the fourth S.C.I (Service Civil International) Exchange Evaluation Meeting in corporation with I.V.S (International Voluntary Service) Scotland, which was held in Edinburgh in Scotland from the 16th Oct to the 22nd Oct. 51 participants from 40 different countries gathered to discuss the evaluations of the voluntary exchanges held during the 2012 season, to share best practice on work camps and to expand networking to establish friendship with other participants.
There were various topics that were discussed at the meeting. The topics included the follow-up on the topic discussed in the meeting held last year, the use of on-line placement system, new partnership procedures, evaluation of partnerships, the methods of raising awareness of global and local issues, the way of increasing active citizenship, how to promote the programs, etc.
There was also an event called “Market of Projects” where several organizations showed a display of their own voluntary program. Zajel took this opportunity and showed photos of the international camps that we had organized as well as images of Palestinian culture to raise awareness of Palestinian issues. Zajel also presented the video to show the last summer camp.
The participants also enjoyed a tour of the old city of Scotland and learned the culture and history of Scotland.
