Lecture on Focus Grouping in Preparing Scientific Research is Organized at the University
The International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) and the Office of the University President Assistant for Graduate Affairs organized a presentation about the use of focus grouping in preparing scientific research. The meeting was administered by Dr. Carmen Sammut who introduced the students to the methods for using focus grouping by researcher in order to understand the general perceptions among the audience.
Dr. Sammut also spoke about the role of statistics in creating the knowledge perceptions and identifying the mechanism for knowing the trends of the people through interpreting the social reality. She also explained the importance of using the focus grouping approach in studying the social phenomena, making policies, knowing the political, social and economical desires of the people.
After that, Dr. Sammut gave pieces of advice and directions to the students which they would need when conducting research work depending on the focus grouping approach they learned in the meeting.
Dr. Sammut is a visiting lecturer from the University of Malta; she holds a PhD degree in Media and teaches media at the University of Malta. Additionally, she has taught at the different European universities and publishes her articles and studies in many European and international journals.
